KTGPA Medallion
KTGPA Medallion
Exclusively for KTGPA Priors and those who have been awarded one by the Grand Prior. These blue medallions are worn above your neck cross, as pictured.
It is optional and not mandatory to be worn.
It is your choice what meaning you wish to put behind this medallion. The most basic simple meaning for those wishing not to be involved with saints is the crown of thorns as a symbol of Jesus and his sacrifice for us.The original nine Templars were from France and this pays tribute to that.
We serve Jesus and most importantly, the crown of thorns is a symbol of Jesus‘s sacrifice for our salvation and that He is our King.
The other optional meaning behind it is that the USA Grand Priory patron saint is Saint Louis IX. St. Louis was a very close friend of our order we gave him the crown of thorns which is one of the main symbols of St. Louis whenever he’s depicted.
It is also a major part of the mysterious intrigue of our Templar ancestors searching for the relics of Christ and this relic is a historical one which was turned over to the French government.
He’s a very special saint for us because he died on a crusade and he had a very strong relationship with our ancient order. They both supported each other and they were the best friends.
They fought , bled and died together.
Whenever you see a depiction of St. Louis with the crown of thorns you’re kind of seeing a depiction of Templar History. You can never see St. Louis without seeing Templar history.
You don’t have to be into Saints to respect the fact that King Louis was not only a friend but a major part of our own history.
So our blue medallion has the crown of thorns our ancestors gave Louis while serving on the crusades with him. St. Louis is always depicted with the crown also St. Louis is a symbol with the French flair.
The blue medallion is a Christian, Templar, and French symbol.
There are so much meaning and significance to take from this medallion for our personal walks.
